Doulas are support professionals. The word translates to "a woman who serves" We are experienced in navigating life's most challenging events as Birth & Death Doulas. Like sunrises and sunsets, births and deaths are beautiful and unique. We welcome the opportunity to work with your family.
As friends of over 15 years we have seen the trials of life together, we have grown closer as LGBTQ+ oriented women, we have taken many classes together, volunteered for our non-profit organization together, became Mom's together, and finally we have become business owners together. We have seen loved ones through birth and postpartum as well as hospice care prior to becoming doulas ourselves. It is our passion to provide support to new families whether that means you are adding a person or taking one away. Your family will always feel different after a birth or a death. It has been a great realization in our lives how valuable support can be. We hope to help every family we can touch with life's great ebb and flow.
As doulas our mission is to provide well qualified, professional support to families at times of great change in their lives. We wish to provide this support through sharing evidence based knowledge and comprehensive care.
Whether you're in the hospital or at home you may be confronting the most joyous or the most sorrowful time in your life. As Doulas we are here to make sure you don't have to do that alone. We will answer the tough questions and support you all the way through your life's changes.
We are certified and consistently trained. We have years worth of knowledge in the birthing, postpartum, and end of life care fields. As Doulas we aim to educate our clients to provide support and communication skills. We want everyone we work with to leave us with the ability to advocate for themselves and others.
Meet Mary- our back-up emergency Doula. Mary has been through multiple pregnancies including pre-term pregnancies. She has many births under her belt as a birthing coach (including ours!). She has years of experience in mental health and grief support. She is a wonderfully caring soul who will be there when it matters most. If we are unable to attend your Birth or Death Vigil due to our own personal emergency this is likely who will be by your side.
The end of one’s life can be just as beautiful as the beginning, but we also understand how stressful that time can be. If you require extra care or spiritual support for yourself or those around you, we can help with our experienced doula support services. We will be there for you when you need us the most.
